Hi, I am Kayla.

I fell in love with photography at a young age. I loved wandering around the house and exploring the outdoors with my VHS tape recorder. I got my first film camera when I was nine and every birthday I was allotted two rolls of film that I was never patient enough to develop. But I never considered my passion for photography as something I could make into a career. Instead, I spent some time in the healthcare field and tried my hand at being a 911 dispatcher.

I grew more intrigued by the art of photography after becoming a mother and business owner. After starting my own furniture refinishing business, I bought my first professional camera. My passion rekindled, I began taking clients and slowly growing my business and developing my craft. I love manipulating shadows and natural light to expose the beauty and personality within everyone I photograph. There is something powerful and primal about the rich tones of colors and hues of nature. I am beyond blessed with the privilege to work with all my clients and to have the opportunity to encourage people to see the beauty within themselves no matter what phase of life they are in.

I am currently residing in Northern Virginia with my husband, our two girls, and our border collie.

Travel Dreams

Ever since I was little I have been fascinated by different cultures. I cannot help but revel in all the differences and similarities between them all. To me, all those things are what make this world such an interesting and beautiful place. If you are looking for an enthusiastic photographer to capture your event, wedding or elopement in a fun and unique way, I am your gal!

In front of my lens...

It is no secret: getting in front of that camera can be difficult. I say this knowing firsthand how awkward it can make you feel to have the camera trained on you. I strive not only to break that barrier but also to inspire every single person who trusts me to capture their memories. My sessions are more than my job; they are an opportunity for friendships to develop while precious memories are being made. I genuinely love sharing my art and my creative perspective with everyone I meet and I look forward to lifting my clients up while -- most importantly -- having the best time.

My Journey

Setting out to share my passion was not an easy decision, and it took a lot of courage. We were still in the middle of a pandemic and I had just moved more than 700 miles across the country to a new state with my family. Times were tough, to say the least! But with the encouragement of my friends, family and other artists I was able to march full steam ahead with my dream. If it weren't for people like you, my little business would not have succeeded.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your continued support. Thank you for helping me make my dream come true.
